HI! I'M BRITTANY

Brittany Pettitt, a DFW native, has lived a life shaped by a deep connection to the natural world and an extraordinary spiritual journey. She studied ecology at Cornell University, where she delved into the complexities of environmental systems and global challenges. Her adventures during this period of her life include sailing across the Pacific Ocean and studying the ocean’s vital role in the Earth’s climate.

For much of her life, Brittany identified as a staunch atheist. However, while studying ecology and witnessing the intricate beauty of creation, God opened her heart to Islam which has since guided her life and work.

BRITTANY PETTITT

Founding Educator & Ecologist

Brittany Pettitt, a DFW native, has lived a life shaped by a deep connection to the natural world and an extraordinary spiritual journey. She studied ecology at Cornell University, where she delved into the complexities of environmental systems and global challenges. Her adventures during this period of her life include sailing across the Pacific Ocean and studying the ocean’s vital role in the Earth’s climate.

Her professional background includes serving as an environmental investigator for the State of Texas, working as a certified permaculturist, and leading community projects as an integral designer. Brittany and her family also spent 6 years studying between Istanbul & Konya, Türkiye. Brittany homeschools her four free-range children, which combines her love for faith, ecology and adventure. Her journey from science to spirituality inspires her commitment to cultivating wonder and reverence for God. 

KEVIN MARSHALL

Co-Founder & Curriculum Specialist

Kevin, a native of Houston, Texas, is a microschool founder, graduate fellow, and homeschooling enthusiast dedicated to expanding access to traditional liberal arts education within culturally diverse settings. He is the founder of Freedom to Think--an official partner of KaiPod Learning, the American Society of Islamic Philosophy and Theology (ASIPT), WIT Foundation, and Little Sandals Nature Club.

​After having lived and worked in Turkey for over six years with his family, Kevin continues both traditional studies and project collaborations with highly qualified teachers based in Türkiye, Egypt, and North America, respectively.
